Full of Information

I received a copy of the Ebook Work From Home for Low Income Families by Lia Burres This is a great book for anyone wanting or needing to get started working online from home.

It is full of information on ways that you can work from home. You’ll learn how to  sell online, advertise, and create your own website all FREE!

It has LOTS of links to get you on your way and she has only added things that HAVE actually worked for her which I think is a big PLUS as she has weeded out the bad to only give you what will really pay off.

As she has said herself the book isn't very well organized but I can see where that would be hard to do with all the information and links that she has in there. I have personally learned a lot from this book.

A Simple Faith - A Simply Beautiful Story

I love reading Amish books but had never read one by Rosalind Lauer, after reading A Simple Faith I will have to say this won't be the last time I read her books.

Have the kleenex ready, as there are both sad and happy times in a Simple Faith. And how we use the strength of God to get through these times.

A tragic car accident brings the Amish and English together in the start of this story.

I love the way Rosalind Lauer shows that faith, hope, forgiveness, and love bring people closer together.

She does a great job of telling the love story of both an Amish (Elsie/Ruben) and an English couple (Haley/Dylan). I enjoyed all of these characters, not sure if I have a favorite of the characters, they are all great.

I learned about Ellis-Van Creveld Syndrome (EVC) which Elsie has, and Ruben shows a very tender side and big heart when it comes to Elsie.

Jaw Dropping & Surprising

I just finished Manson: The Life and Times of Charles Manson by Jeff Guinn. WOW! I really learned a lot from this book, I was only a small child at the time the Tate/LaBianca murders, so can't really remember when this all took place. But have read and heard lots about it since.
The author gives a lot of background history of the 60's and 70's and what was going on in the world at that time as well as the early years of Charles Manson.

How his mother and and uncle spend time in prison, leaving Charlie to be raised by his grandmother and another aunt and uncle. His mother did try for a while after being released but Charlie was a manipulator from the early years. His early years in reform schools & the penitentiary he learned more ways to get people to do what he wanted.

The book contains interviews from adopted sister Nancy, and cousin Jo Ann. And pictures of Charlie as a young boy who you would not know by looking at the pictures that he would grow up to be the "The Most Dangerous Man Alive".

It is scary that one man could have such influence over people that they would do whatever he told them to.

This is a must have book for anyone interested in the Manson family and the Tate/LaBianca murders.

The Twisted Truth - my review

I read The Twisted Truth by Erin Armstrong in one day as I could not put it down. I figured it out early on, and wanted to keep reading to see how long it would take for Michelle (the heroine) to figure things out that were right in front of her. There is such a fine line between love and hate as this story shows. Also in her case love was blind, as she she couldn't see what so many were giving her hints about. The author does a good job with the twists and turns this book takes. This had a different ending than I was expecting.

Seashells, Gator Bones, and the Church of Everlasting Liability by Susan Adger - my review

I just finished reading Seashells, Gator Bones, and the Church of Everlasting Liability by Susan Adger and let me tell you it is a book I will read again! Seashells takes you back to another place and time in the south through scraps of papers and other's memories.  A preacher with a questionable past, sewing circles, gator farming, raising strawberries & oranges, a beauty parlor in the kitchen, friends & enemies, and more. I laughed and cried as I read the stories of these characters. I was disappointed when I reached the end of the book because I wanted more, I hope to see a sequel to this book by Susan.

My review of Hitter by Daryn R Guarino

I finished reading Hitter by Daryn R Guarino. This is a well written book. Although fiction it is written as a biography of a hitman. Very gruesome, with torture, beating people up, and murdering people for money. Very detailed, not the type of book for everyone, took me a while to read it because it is so graphic and puts you inside the head of a hitman.  It follows him from his childhood to tell how he ended up with this lifestyle.  At points though out the book I despised the man at other times I found myself feeling sorry for him.  This is not a book I will easily forget.

Road Salt by Linda Nelson - Review

I just finished reading the book Road Salt by Linda Nelson, I would recommend this book to ALL young readers. I learned a lot about a subject I have only heard about so far which is people using Bath Salts to get high. Linda makes the reader feel that they are with these four teenagers as they are experiencing this road trip and all the things that happen along the way.

This is a great book which will make the reader think.  How well do you know your friends? Do you or your friends think you need to get high to have fun?

I hope that this book reaches all young and old alike that thing getting high on bath salt (or anything) is the answer. I hope it reaches all that are thinking about giving it or any drug a try.  Drugs are such an epidemic in today's world with so many young and old alike loosing their lives needlessly.

My Will Vs. God's Will

How to Find God's Will: ...in 3 simple steps by Josh Wood was a quick read. From which I came away with the feeling of spending time talking with a friend after reading it. It is is written in plain and simple language simple enough for anyone to understand.  I enjoyed the humor he used to get the point across - "My Will vs. God's Will" . I will read this one again! Heartbreaking and Heartwarming

Another Forgotten Child by Cathy Glass is both heartbreaking and heartwarming.  Although this story takes place in the UK and I live the US, we often hear of stories such as this. It breaks my heart that children anywhere in the world should suffer abuse or neglect such as Aimee did in this story.  As Cathy told Aimee's story I had tears in my eyes, this made me wish that I could reach out and give this child and so many others like her a big hug!   I admire the good foster carer/parent's that truly care and help the children that need to learn what love and to be cared for are.  I will be reading more of Cathy's books now that I have found them.
