Heaven and the Afterlife by Erwin W. Lutzer - my review

 
Heaven and the Afterlife: The Truth about Tomorrow and What it Means for Today by Erwin W. Lutzer caught my attention as I  sat at my Mother's bedside while she was fighting her battle with cancer.

There are three books combined into this one book...
1. One Minute After You Die
2. How You Can Be Sure You Will Spend Eternity with God
3. Your Eternal Rewards

The author uses scripture to let us know what Jesus has to say on these subjects. This book is a very LOUD wake-up call for everyone. Full of information on what the BIBLE and JESUS tell us waits on the other side. We can't change our mind after having arrived, we must do that here. The author lets us know, by using scripture, how to KNOW where we will spend eternity.

This can be both an encouraging book for Christians, or scary for non-believers when you get a glimpse of what awaits.
I highly recommend this book to everyone as I want to see everyone in Heaven someday.

The Counselor by A.W. Tozer - my review

The Counselor by A.W. Tozer is a straight-forward book talking about the Holy Spirit.

You will find no sugar-coating here, only straight talk on what the Bible says about the Holy Spirit. The author uses Bible scripture to show you what the Lord has to say about the Holy Spirit. We all need this closeness with the Holy Spirit that God wants us to have.

I highly recommend this book to everyone. It is one that I will find myself returning to I am sure.

Renovating The Richardsons by Virginia Smith - my review

Renovating The Richardsons by Virginia Smith is a fun enjoyable read. 
I haven't read any other books in this series but still totally enjoyed this fun book. I will be reading the other books in the series now, as I have fell in love with these characters! 

Set in a small town in Kentucky with quirky characters a fun enjoyable book. Millie and Al are renovating their bed and breakfast. Everything that can go wrong does. Lots of fun and humor in this story.

21 Seconds To Change Your World by Mark Rutland - my review

21 Seconds To Change Your World : Finding God's Healing and Abundance Through Prayer by Mark Rutland  is a powerful book showing a new way to look at The Lord's Prayer and the 23rd Psalm. The author shows how using the two of these daily can restore your soul.

Examining both and who they came from as well, Jesus and David and how they relate to each other. He goes in to an in depth study of both, I enjoyed reading this book and can't wait to give it a try in my own life. For I know that prayers are answered, miracles can and still do happen. What better way to pray then how Jesus taught us?

The author covers everything, telling how to use natural ingredients and your natural hair color to get the color desired. Coloring your hair doesn't have to be done with chemicals, I'm glad to learn this!!

I started graying early (in my late 20's) way to young to look so old! I started using over the counter hair colors to cover my gray, but totally dislike the chemicals and what they are doing to my hair. I'm a lot older than that now, which means that I have been using chemicals for way to long on my hair! I was VERY HAPPY to see this book, and can't wait to try a more natural approach to covering up my gray, which I still don't want.

I highly recommend this book to anyone that colors their hair or is thinking of coloring their hair.

A Girl's Guide To Moving On by Debbie Macomber - my review

A Girl's Guide to Moving On by Debbie Macomber is not your usual Mother-in-law/daughter-in-law story. I enjoyed reading Nichole and Leanne's stories as they move on from their cheating husbands (father and son) to start new lives. I had met Nichole when reading Last One Home, but A Girl's Guide To Moving On, is a great stand-alone book as well.

I enjoyed the story of how Nichole and Leanne deal with their exes, Jake and Sean, and their cheating ways. Also both still trying to control their lives even after divorce.  The new men, Rocco and Nicolai, that come into their lives, showing them how women should be treated.

I am a HUGE Debbie Macomber fan, and this one didn't disappoint me in the least. I highly recommend it to all Macomber fans or anyone wanting to read one of her books for the 1st time.

The New Generation Breast Cancer Book by Elisa Port, M.D. - my review

The New Generation Breast Cancer Book by Elisa Port, M.D. is an informative book for anyone with breast cancer or who has family and friends with it. My Mother was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer several years ago, now is battling Metastatic Breast Cancer, so this book was very interesting to me. The author covers all of these subjects, letting us know what to expect and what can be done.

Each chapter can stand on it's own or can be read cover to cover. Easy to understand for the layperson.
I recommend this book to anyone with a loved one battling this terrible disease or battling it themselves.
